The Sisters of Mary Schools Community Involvement

Every school that exists has a purpose for its existence. This purpose has been clearly defined in the mission-vision of the Sisters of Mary School. It includes the molding of the graduates to teach and lead by example the Marian virtues of simplicity, charity, gratitude and joy. The greatest move that the school has done since its establishment is the giving of opportunities to the poorest of the poor but deserving students to be educated. These students are given access to high quality secondary education with emphasis both in academic and vocational-technical curriculum. They are molded to become ideal high school graduates committed to serve the nation, to love their fellow men, and to spread moral and spiritual values based on the Gospels.

Profound gratitude is accorded by all the members of The Sisters of Mary Community to Fr. Al Schwartz the founder of the school. His way of following God’s calling has truly transformed the young students from the marginalized members of the society including the teachers into a world class, values driven individuals. Gradually, this transformation has contributed to the reconstruction of the society making its members responsive to the needs of time.

The pursuit of making a difference by becoming dynamic disciples of the Christian values in the society is the noblest dream of this institution. For many years now, the Sisters of Mary Schools reached out to the community in order to be of service to the general public. These extension services usually involve the administrators, faculty members and the students. Thus, through its unconditional and common touch with the cause-oriented, needy and less fortunate members of the society, The Sisters of Mary Schools family extend a helping hand in community outreach programs such as ecumenical services, event participation, free tutorial to out-of-school youth, and providing relief goods to indigent or calamity-stricken people.

To fully realize a certain degree of worth and responsibility in its social undertakings, The Sisters of Mary Schools ensure to respond upon its definitive objectives in the outreach program, to wit;

  1. develop relationships and establish rapport with other people through face to face interaction in civic activities.
  2. gather together and discuss with the members of the community problems and issues that directly or indirectly affect them.
  3. let the members of the community recognize the peculiar practices of the school.
  4. share the teachers’ and students’ talents and skills based on the needs of the people.
  5. promote good citizenship, national pride and workmanship through community service.
  6. participate actively in civic welfare programs and other similar endeavors in the service of the nation.
