ADMISSION POLICY
The Sisters of Mary School is a boarding school that admits students from the poorest of the poor families. Boys and girls coming from Luzon region are housed in Cavite campuses while those from Visayas and Mindanao regions are in Talisay, Cebu for girls and in Minglanilla, Cebu for boys.
Admission is granted with definite understanding that student and his/her parents or guardians agree fully and subscribe without reservation to all policies, rules and regulations of the school.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
- Between the ages of 12 and 16 years.
- Must be an elementary graduate.
- Must come from a very poor family and has no brother/sister who studied or is studying in the school.
- Must pass the admission examination and interview administered by the Sisters of Mary.
- Must submit the following credentials:
· Original & photocopy of birth certificate
· Form 138-A or Grade Six card
· Original baptismal certificate, if baptized already
· Certificate of good moral character
· ID pictures (2 pcs. 1x1)
- Non-submission of the above credentials, forfeits the privilege of in The Sisters of Mary School.
ACADEMIC POLICIES
(Sisters of Mary Technical Education Institute Cavite/Cebu, Inc.)
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
- Must have satisfactorily completed the SECONDARY COURSE with NO GRADE lower than 80%.
- Must be an alumna/alumnus of the Sisters of Mary School.
- Must belong to the COMPREHENSIVE GROUP or under THREE YEAR STRUCTURED BASIC SECONDARY EDUCATION CURRICULUM.
- Must have undergone HIGH SCHOOL OCCUPATIONAL INTEREST INVENTORY (HSOII) and YOUTH PROFILING FOR STARRING CAREER (YP4SC).
- Must be eager to undergo the Training for Work Scholarship Program (TWSP) to develop further their attitudes, skills and knowledge (ASK) in the chosen Training Regulation (TR).
- Must exhibit willingness to undergo ASSESSMENT for easy EMPLOYMENT and application of training regulation.
SELECTION PROCESS
- To administer the HIGH SCHOOL OCCUPATIONAL INTEREST INVENTORY (HSOII) – DEPED
- To undergo the YOUTH PROFILING FOR STARRING CAREER (YP4SC) – TESDA
- To pass the simple question and answer test based on the chosen training regulation.
SCHOOL CALENDAR
Being a boarding institution (stay-in), classes in the POST-SECONDARY begin APRIL and end on DECEMBER. Classes are from Monday to Saturday. All programs offered complied with the prescribed number of hours, however, most of the time the program goes beyond the requirements. The students of ON-THE-JOB TRAINING (OJT) start as early as JULY and most often their OJT ripens into employment or permanency in work.
OTHER TESDA REQUIREMENTS
- Must undergo the ON-THE-JOB TRAINING (OJT) with the tie-up companies.
- Must take the ASSESSMENT in the training regulations acquired to avail of the Special Order (SO) issued by TESDA.
- Must show enthusiasm in employing oneself to apply attitudes, skills and knowledge (ASK) during the training.
- Must dream to acquire a degree by continuing his/her studies through the Ladderized Education Program (LEP) or Executive Order 358.
EXPECTED OUTCOMES/OUTPUTS
After the completion of the one-year POST-SECONDARY TVET course/s, the Sisters of Mary Technical Education Institute Cavite/Cebu Inc. trainees are expected to:
- Exhibit enthusiasm and readiness in “putting into action” the training regulation learned.
- Show capabilities of becoming assets and partners of the industry in nation building.
- Practice/apply the proper attitudinal behavior and values in the workplace.
- Earn a living by practicing the desirable values giving importance on work ethics, self-discipline, self-reliance, love of fellowmen and most of all – LOVE of GOD for without HIM we can do nothing.
